2024 Emissions
Greenhouse gas emissions, measured in tons of CO2 equivalents, are calculated based on the methodological references given in “The Greenhouse Gas Protocol: A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard” considering:
- for Scope 1 direct emissions:
- the consumption of liquid and gaseous fuels;
- the release of refrigerant gases from air-conditioning systems;
- the release of SF6, mainly used for testing activities;
- for Scope 2 indirect emissions, the consumption of purchased energy (mainly electricity);
- for Scope 3 indirect emissions, accounting for more than 99% of the Group's total emissions:
- purchased goods and services, especially raw materials;
- capital goods;
- upstream impact of energy consumption;
- transportation and logistics;
- use of products and solutions sold;
- other minor categories.
The detailed quantification of Scope 3 emissions showed that about 94% of the total emissions generated throughout the value chain can be attributed mainly to the use phase of products and solutions sold. The procurement of raw materials accounts for nearly 5%, while the remaining are divided among minor categories.
